Invasive animal inquiry seeks local input

Nationals Member for Mildura, Peter Crisp, is calling on concerned or affected community members to have their say, as part of the Victorian Parliament’s inquiry into the control of invasive animals on Crown land.

“Invasive animals such as rabbits, foxes, feral pigs and goats can have devastating effects on the environment, property and livestock if left unchecked.” Mr Crisp said.

“The committee needs to hear from our local people who face issues with invasive animals and this inquiry is an opportunity to have your say on how issues can be addressed on your land.

“This issue effects many regional areas across Victoria and city-based Members of Parliament need to understand the impacts that invasive animals are causing in county areas,” he said.

Submissions can be made until 8 August 2016. For more information, including how to make a submission and the terms of reference for the committee please visit www.parliament.vic.gov.au/enrrdc
